Week 4 – bed

This week was a complete loss. After the visit to the doctor on Monday, I spent the rest of the week in bed. I couldn’t do anything – sleep, eat, concentrate. My throat felt like I was swallowing razor blades and the only relief I could get was to drink – hot or cold, so long as it was passing over my throat. By Wednesday I made some ice milk – like ice cream but made with ordinary milk. That was a lifesaver, not too thick and easy to swallow. I started to get my appetite back on Wednesday and decided to make some carrot soup. I’ve never broken a sweat peeling carrots before!

I had my first whole night’s sleep on Thursday, and felt refreshed on Friday. I took it easy, but was up and about on Saturday and Sunday, planning to go back to work on Monday.
